Prosciutto Fig Sandwich 


  • 1 baguette 
  • 1 tbs minced garlic
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 2 cup arugala 
  • 4 sliced figs
  • 1/4-1/2 lb Prosciutto 
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegrette
  • 1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Slice baguette in half (horizontally and vertically) to create two sandwiches 
  2. Mix the garlic and 1 tbs of olive oil and rub the insides of the baguette 
  3. Bring oven to broil and toast baguettes  ( watch carefully as bread can burn within a few minutes) once golden brown remove from oven 
  4. While baguette is warm, spread gorgonzola on the bottom piece of each sandwich 
  5. Later piece of procuitto ontop of the cheese
  6. Add arugala ontop of the procuitto
  7. Place sliced figs across bread 
  8. Add remaining olive oil to dress the sandwich 
  9. In a non-stick pan, add balsamic vinegar and turn to medium heat. Consistently which (3-5 minutes) until balsamic has a thick consistency 
  10. Remove from heat and drizzle over bread with a spoon 
  11. Sprinkle with salt and pepper 

For picnics, cut a thick strip of baking paper and wrap around each sandwich – the tie with rope for a cute effect!
